Do you know where your target audience is?
Most ads reference the online space in some way. From print pieces with QR codes that you can scan from your smartphone to television ads offering #hashtag conversations to follow online, all roads lead to the Internet. What does this mean for PR for law firms? It should show you that your target audience, whoever that may be, is probably online right now and could be looking for you. But will they find you – or your competitor? And, more importantly, do you know how to find them?
As this piece by CBS demonstrates, the Internet is revolutionizing revolutions. It can revolutionize your law firm’s marketing efforts as well, if done strategically. The question is no longer whether your law firm is using the Internet (because it obviously is); the first question to ask yourself is this: How could my firm be using the Internet? That list of possibilities is pretty endless once you start to really dig down and explore your options. And the second question, the one that requires in-depth understanding of social networking platforms and where the future of law firm business development lies, is this: Where is my target audience? If your firm hasn’t considered this question yet, now is the time.
